# Delete/cancel my Emma account

|| ⚠️ If you're leaving because of a problem with your account, contact us via chat first — we may be able to help without you needing to delete anything.

To delete your account, you'll first need to cancel any trial or paid subscription by downgrading to Emma Basic (Emma's free plan), then follow the account deletion steps in the app. See [how to cancel your subscription](https://help.emma-app.com/en/article/cancel-emma-plus-emma-pro-or-emma-ultimate-h97m7x/) for the steps.

###### Deleting your Emma App account

1. Go to the **Feed** (main dashboard).
2. Select your profile in the top left corner.
3. Tap the **settings icon** (cog wheel) in the top right corner.
4. Tap on **Account**.
5. Tap on **Delete Account**.
