# Make a bank transfer payment

Need to make a payment to someone? Do it through Emma! 

Emma harnesses the [Open Banking system](/en/article/what-is-open-banking-1263log/) to enable you to make a payment from a bank account connected in Emma to a contact. Follow the steps below:

### Making a payment with Emma

1. Go to the **Pay** tab
2. Select **Pay Someone**
3. Select the **Payee** or **Add new** and the payee's details
4. Enter the amount you'd like to pay
5. Select the **Tick Icon** in the bottom right-hand corner
6. You'll be transferred to your banking app/banking website to authorise the payment
7. This person should now be paid!
