# My income is in the wrong category

If you work for a large company that provides goods or services, Emma may automatically categorise your income based on the company’s industry.

For example:

* If you work for Thames Water, your income may be categorised as **Bills**
* If you work for Avanti West Coast, it may be categorised as **Transport**
* If you work for Sky, it may be categorised as **Entertainment**

You can easily change this:

1. Select the transaction you want to update
2. Tap **Category** under the transaction name
3. Choose **Income**
4. Tap **Check** **similar transactions** to apply the change to other payments
5. Select the transactions you want to update
6. Tap **Apply** edit

After a few changes, Emma will learn from your updates. Typically, after 3 or 4 corrected transactions, future income from the same source will be categorised correctly.
