Setting a budget tells Emma how much you want to spend over a given time period
Follow the steps below to set-up your budget

Select when you want your regular budgeting period to begin.

Read more about the difference between payday to payday and monthly budgeting periods.



If you selected payday to payday, select one income transaction marking the start of your regular budgeting period.

If Emma detects a transaction in the future that is a close match with the income transaction you selected, it will restart your budgeting period.

Have multiple incomes? Select the one that you want your regular budgeting period to start on.



Select the frequency of your income. This will tell Emma when you expect your regular budgeting period to reset and begin again.



Set your total budget

This tells Emma how much you want to spend each month.

We don't set this amount automatically to the same level as your income as you may not want to spend all your income.

Savings and credit card repayments should not be included in your total budget.
