# Subcategories

### What are Subcategories?

Subcategories allow you to go deeper into your spending analysis than ever before. Instead of simply seeing your spending grouped under a broad category like "Bills" or "Eating Out," you can now create a secondary layer for more precise tracking.

For example, you can break down your spending like this:
* **Bills** can be split into **Electricity, Water,** and **Internet**.
* **Eating Out** can be split into **Coffee, Lunch,** and **Dinner**.
This gives you a much clearer picture of exactly where your money is going.

### Who can use this feature?

Subcategories is an advanced feature available exclusively to **Emma Pro** and **Emma Ultimate** subscribers.

### How do I create a Subcategory?

You can set up and manage your Subcategories easily within the app. Just follow these steps:
1. Open the app and select **Analytics**.
2. Select **Manage Categories**.
3. Select **Subcategories**.
4. Fill in the name, choose an Emoji (as the logo), and select the main **parent category** that this subcategory belongs to.
5. Press **Continue** to save your new subcategory.
