# What happens when I get a new card?

It depends on the type of new card you’ve received.

### I’ve replaced a lost, stolen, or expired card

You do not need to add a new bank login.

Your bank account details remain the same; only the physical card has changed. There’s nothing you need to update in Emma.

### I’ve opened a new account with a bank I already use

If you’ve opened a new account with a bank that is already linked to Emma, you’ll need to renew your bank connection. Click [here](https://help.emma-app.com/en/article/renew-my-90-day-bank-access-cnzni5/) to renew your access. 

When renewing access, make sure you select your new account as well as any existing accounts you want to keep linked.

### I’ve opened an account with a brand new bank

If you’ve opened an account with a new bank that isn’t already linked, you’ll need to add it as a new bank login in Emma.
