# What is my 4-digit passcode?

The 4-digit passcode is the one you set when signing up to Emma for the first time. 

Your 4-digit passcode is used to unlock Emma every time you open it, unless you use biometrics. 

For UK 🇬🇧 users, your passcode is also used for initiating buy and sell operations in Emma Invest.

### How do I change my passcode?

To change your Emma passcode, follow these steps:

1. Go to the **Feed** (main dashboard) in the Emma app
2. Select your profile in the top left
3. Tap on **Account** 
4. Select **Change passcode** 

### What do I do if I have forgotten it?

**If you are shown the passcode screen when opening the app**

This means you are logged in to the app, you can just tap on **Forgot** in the bottom left-hand corner when presented with the screen to unlock the app. 

An email will be sent to the email address linked to your Emma account with a link where you can reset your passcode.

If you don't receive this email, be sure to check your junk mail. If you don't see the email in your junk mail, reach out to our Support team via chat.
