Why do I need to connect a bank account to Emma?
Emma connects directly to your bank to import your transactions and balances automatically, keeping your budget up to date and showing recurring payments and subscriptions you might have lost track of. That's why you'll need at least one linked account to get started — it's designed to work this way, rather than through manual entry.
Is it safe to connect my bank account to Emma?
The connection is read-only. Emma can see your transactions and balances to show you what's happening, but it can't move your money or charge you — and that includes your Emma subscription.
There will be a 90-day consent period so your account will be automatically disconnected after this time or you can choose to disconnect your account manually at any time!
