Create, edit and delete custom categories

This feature is available on Emma Pro and Emma Ultimate 🐻
You can't remove or edit default categories

What are custom categories?

Custom categories allow you to create transaction categories that make sense to you.

Creating new categories gives you more unique, custom options to categorise your transactions. You can also set budgets against these new categories.

To create a custom category, follow the steps below

Creating a custom category

Select a transaction
Tap on the assigned Category that shows Change Category
Select Add New
Choose a name and emoji to represent your new custom category and press Save
Click Create Custom Category to confirm
You're all done 💪

Deleting a custom category

Select a transaction
Tap on the assigned Category that shows Change Category
Hold your finger down on the Custom Category you want to delete
Tap Delete this category
Select Yes, let's do it

Editing a custom category

Select a transaction
Tap on the assigned Category that shows Change Category
Hold your finger down on the Custom Categories you want to edit
Choose Rename or Update Emoji
