My Halifax account has moved to Lloyds

Some Halifax customers have had their accounts moved to Lloyds. https://www.halifax.co.uk/brand-change.html

If this affects you, Halifax may reject a payment or tell you that it can’t renew your access. You may also be asked to return to Emma and select Lloyds instead.

Why do I need to reconnect?

Halifax and Lloyds use separate Open Banking connections. Halifax doesn’t provide Emma with a notification when an account has moved, and not every Halifax customer is being migrated.
This means we can’t automatically send everyone to Lloyds, as Lloyds will reject customers whose accounts are still with Halifax. For security, Emma also can’t create a new Lloyds connection without your approval.

Once you connect through Lloyds, we can recognise your migrated accounts and update your connection.

Reconnect your account

  • Return to the Feed tab in Emma
  • Tap + Add below your account balances
  • Select the account type you want to connect
  • Find and select Lloyds Bank
  • Follow the instructions to approve access
  • Once complete, you’ll be redirected back to Emma

Please don’t keep trying to reconnect through Halifax. You don’t need to delete your existing Halifax bank login before adding Lloyds.

Once Lloyds is connected, your accounts and payments should work normally again. 🐻

If you’re still having trouble, please contact us through the chat in the Emma app.
