How do I transfer my investment account to another provider?

If you’d like to transfer your General Investment Account (GIA) or Stocks & Shares ISA to another provider, you’ll need to contact your new provider to start the transfer process.


When requesting the transfer, please ask your new provider to transfer your account from Seccl, which is Emma’s investment partner - not from Emma directly.


To request a transfer, you’ll need to provide your new provider with your GIA or ISA account number, along with some personal details to verify your identity.


How to find your account number


You can find your GIA or ISA account number in the Emma app by following these steps:

  1. Open the Emma app.
  2. Go to the Invest tab from the main dashboard.
  3. Select the investment account you want to transfer (Stocks & Shares ISA or General Investments).
  4. Tap the settings icon in the top-right corner.
  5. Select Valuation Statement and download the latest statement.
  6. Your account number will be listed as the Account ID on the statement. It starts with “A” and contains 7 characters.

Please make sure the details you provide to your new provider exactly match the information on your Emma account, as mismatched details may cause the transfer request to be delayed or rejected.
