I don't recognise a transaction in my account

If you see a transaction that you don't recognise, here's what to do:

  1. Check the merchant name - Sometimes transactions appear under different names than you'd expect. For example, a purchase from a local shop might show up under their parent company's name.
  2. Check with any joint account holders or authorised users - If you share your account with someone, they may have made the purchase.
  3. Review recent subscriptions - Subscription services often have different billing names than their brand names.
  4. Wait 24-48 hours - Pending transactions sometimes show incomplete information that updates once they settle.

If you still don't recognise the transaction after checking these, contact your bank immediately. They can investigate potentially fraudulent transactions and take appropriate action to protect your account.

Important

Emma displays transaction data directly from your bank. We don't process payments or have the ability to investigate or reverse transactions🐻
