Change a transaction category

To change a transaction category, follow these steps:

Change transaction categories



Select the transaction you'd like to change the category of
Click on the Category button underneath the transaction name
Select the category you want the transaction categorised as
Click Select All if you want to apply this category to all transactions from the same merchant
Click on Apply edit at the bottom of the screen

Mass update transaction categories



You can also update the categories of multiple transactions by using our Advanced Transactions Editing feature

Learning previous edits



Emma is able to learn from your past edits. If you make three or more changes to a similar transaction, the app will be able to remember your previous edits and adapt future transactions.

Custom categories



With Emma Pro you can now create custom categories.
