Rolling Budgets

This feature is available on Emma Pro and Emma Ultimate 🐻

What are Rolling Budgets?

Rolling Budgets carry over any leftover or overspent amounts into your next budget period.

For example:

  • If your monthly grocery budget is £200 and you spend £160, the remaining £40 will be added to next month’s budget.

  • If your monthly grocery budget is £200 and you spend £250, the extra £50 will be deducted from next month’s budget.

The rollover amount is calculated at the start of each new budget period, based on how your transactions are categorised at that time.

If you edit transactions from a previous budgeting period after a new period has started, those changes will not update the rolled-over balance.
