Add, edit or remove tags

Tags are a quick way to group transactions instead of the using transactions categories.

A quick and easy example would be creating tags like #train #flight and #fuel for transactions under the category 'Transport'.

Once a tag has been set, you can see spending by tag by selecting the tag in the transaction.

Adding Tags

There are scenarios where Emma might not automatically apply a tag. In this case, you can still add your own tags.

If your transaction already has tags added to it but you'd like to add more more, follow these steps:

  1. Select the transaction the tag is applied to
  2. Select the Tags section
  3. Select the blank space next to the previously created tag
  4. Type in your tag and select the Return or Enter key on your keyboard
  5. Select Next in the top right-hand corner
  6. Choose whether you want the change to apply to that specific transaction or also to similar transactions

If your transaction doesn't already have tags added to it, follow these steps:

  1. Select the transaction you want to add a tag to
  2. Select Add tags

Removing Tags

You may find that a tag has been incorrectly applied to a transaction. To remove this tag, follow these steps

  1. Select the transaction the tag is applied to
  2. Select the Tags section
  3. Select tag you want to remove
  4. Select the backspace button on your keyboard
  5. Select Next
  6. Choose whether you want the change to apply to that specific transaction or also to similar transactions

Editing Tags

Currently, you can't edit a tag that has been created in Emma. Follow the steps above to remove a tag and then re-add a tag.
