Does Emma learn from my past category edits?

Yes. When you change the category of a few similar transactions to the same category, Emma starts applying that category to new similar transactions automatically.

Emma learns from your most recent edits. If you change your mind and start using a different category, new transactions will follow it once you've edited a few.

For example, if you move a few payments from the same coffee shop from Eating out to Coffee, your next payments from that shop will go into Coffee.

Does this change my past transactions?

No. Emma only applies what it learns to new transactions. To change older ones, edit them yourself. See Change a transaction category.

Does this work with custom categories?

Yes, on Emma Pro and Emma Ultimate, where you can create your own categories.
