Exclude a transaction

Excluding a transaction will stop it from being counted towards your spending - If you don't want a transaction to be included in your analytics, exclude it πŸ›‘


This feature is particularly useful if you have made a transfer from one of your bank accounts to another and the transfer is now included in your Income.


There are three ways to exclude transactions:



Excluding one transaction


  1. Find and select the transaction you want to be excluded in Recent Transactions section of the Feed tab i.e Emma App's main page
  2. Click on the transaction, and tap Exclude from analytics slider on the transaction screen


Excluding multiple transactions from the same merchant


  1. Find and select the transaction you want to be excluded in the Transactions section of the Feed tab
  2. Select the transaction then then category underneath the transaction name
  3. Tap the Excluded category and then check similar transactions
  4. Select all transactions from this merchant that you want to exclude
  5. Select Apply edit to X transactions


Excluding multiple transactions from different merchants


This is an Emma Pro feature 🐻


  1. Go to the Feed tab and open Recent Transactions section
  2. Select the pencil icon in the right-hand corner of the screen
  3. Select all transactions you want to exclude
  4. Select Edit X Transactions
  5. Select Categories
  6. Tap on Excluded


If you exclude the same type of transaction a few times, Emma will remember this and exclude transactions of the same type in the future.
