How to deposit money into Emma Invest

Emma Invest is only available to UK-based customers.

Depositing money into Emma Invest is quick and simple. You can add funds with a one-off Open Banking transfer, or automate your deposits with Autoinvest.

Open Banking Transfer

This is the fastest and easiest way to add money to Emma Invest.

  1. Open the app.
  2. Tap the Invest tab.
  3. Tap the account you'd like to deposit into β€” your Stocks and Shares ISA or GIA.
  4. Tap Deposit.
  5. Select Open Banking transfer from your funding account.
  6. Enter your deposit amount and tap Continue.
  7. You'll be redirected to your bank app to finalise the transfer.

Once the funds arrive, they'll be held as cash in your account. To start investing, tap the fund you'd like to invest in and tap Buy.

Autoinvest

If you'd rather invest automatically each month, you can set up Autoinvest to have a fixed amount collected via Direct Debit and allocated across your chosen funds. See What is Autoinvest? for how to set this up.

Remaining Emma Wallet balance

This applies if you have an existing balance in your Emma Wallet. Emma Wallet is closing on 30 September 2026 β€” see Emma Wallet is changing β€” here's what's next for details.

You can transfer your remaining Emma Wallet balance into Emma Invest. This can take up to one working day, depending on processing times and bank cut-off hours. Once the funds arrive, they'll be available to invest.

Having trouble topping up your account?

Your first deposit can take a little longer to process β€” up to 2 full days if made over a weekend. All future deposits are processed within minutes.

If it's been a while and your deposit still hasn't reached your account, contact our support team via in-app chat.

Remember, when investing, your capital is at risk. The value of your investments can go down as well as up.
