My account balance is wrong
If your balance doesn’t look right, follow the steps below 👇
1. Manually sync your accounts (UK only)
If you're in the UK, start by manually syncing your accounts.
Tap the refresh icon under your Current, Savings, or Net Worth figures at the top of the Feed tab.
If you're in the US or Canada, your accounts sync automatically in the background, so you can skip this step.
2. Check your bank connection
If syncing doesn’t update your balance, there may be an issue with your bank connection.
Go to the Feed tab and check for any connection error messages.
If you see an error, you may need to reconnect your bank.
3. Check your available balance
Emma displays your available balance.
Your available balance is your current balance (sometimes called posted balance in the US) minus any pending transactions.
Most banks show both:
- Current balance
- Available balance
The available balance is often smaller or less prominently displayed.
Check that the available balance shown in your bank’s app or website matches what you see in Emma.
Still not matching?
If your bank’s available balance does not match what’s shown in Emma after trying the steps above, the issue may need further investigation.
