Why does my credit report show a missed rent payment from Emma?
If you're seeing what appears to be a "missed payment" from Emma on your credit report, this is likely due to how blank report entries are being interpreted.
When Emma sends credit reports to Experian, we don't label any entries as "missed payments." However, in some cases, we may send blank entries. Experian's system may interpret these blank entries as missed payments, which is why they're appearing on your credit report.
How to resolve this
The best way to fix this issue is to contact Experian directly and raise a dispute:
- Contact Experian's customer support
- Explain that you're disputing a missed rent payment entry
- Request that they raise a formal dispute on your behalf
- Experian will then contact Emma for clarification
- We'll provide them with the correct information to remove the incorrect entry from your report
