Depositing funds to Emma Available Balance

To deposit funds into an Emma Pot and start saving, you will first need to add funds to your Emma App Available Balance.

Your Available Balance is the total sum of funds added to your Emma App account, which are currently not tied up in any investments or held in Pots. Your Available balance can be moved to Pots, withdrawn back to your bank account if you wish, or used to purchase shares via Emma Invest 💪

Follow these steps to add funds to your Available Balance:

Open Emma App
Select Save tab
Select Deposit

You will be asked to choose between Open Banking Banking Transfer or Regular Bank Transfer deposit methods.

Open Banking Deposit

Select which account you’d like to deposit funds from
Enter the deposit amount and select Continue
You will be redirected to your bank app to finalise the transfer

Regular Bank Transfer Deposit

If you choose Regular Bank Transfer Deposit, you will be shown your Emma App account details. You can use these details to transfer funds to your Emma Available balance via regular bank transfer using your online banking app or portal.

Once your funds arrive in your Emma Available balance, you will be able to set them aside to Emma Pots and start saving 💰

How long will it take for my deposit to be added to my Available Balance?

If you are adding funds to your Emma Available Balance for the first time your top-up can take a little while to process - from a few minutes to 2 full days if initiated on the weekend.

Your subsequent deposit will be processed within a couple of hours at most, usually within minutes.

If you have added funds to your Emma Available Balance via Emma Invest in the past, your deposit will also be processed within a couple of hours at most, usually within minutes.

Moving Funds from Available Balance to Emma Pots

Follow these steps to move funds from your Available Balance to an Emma Pot:

Select Save tab
Select the Pot you’d like to add funds to
Select Deposit
Select Choose amount
Enter your deposit amount and select Save
