How do I change my autosave?

Autosave is only available to UK-based customers.

Emma Wallet is closing on 30 September 2026, and Autosave no longer deposits into the Emma Wallet or Instant Access Pots. See Emma Wallet is changing — here's what's next for more details.

Emma's autosaves are small weekly amounts collected from your primary bank account and moved to your Emma Pots.

Can I turn a saving rule on or off?

Yes, you can use one rule at a time, run two at once, or use all three.

  1. Open the app.
  2. Go to the Save tab.
  3. Tap Autosave.
  4. Tap the saving rule you'd like to change — AI Saving, Round Ups, or Custom Deposits.
  5. Toggle it on or off, then set up the rule.

Can I change my allocation?

Yes. Allocation is how you choose for the money to be deposited in Emma.

Funds go into your Pots, and you can set the percentage split between them — for example, 70% to an Easy Access Pot and 30% to a 45 Day Notice Pot.

Your Pot allocation is set the first time you enable Autosave, but you can change it at any time:

  1. Open the app.
  2. Go to the Save tab.
  3. Tap Autosave.
  4. Tap Allocation, located in the Collection details section.

Can I change the frequency of my autosave?

Yes, Autosave can be set to either a weekly or monthly frequency.

If you're on the weekly frequency, the app will notify you of the upcoming collection every Sunday and give you 24 hours to cancel the instruction before the request is made on Monday afternoon. The amount to be saved is collected on Wednesday and will land in your Pot the following Monday.

  1. Open the app.
  2. Go to the Save tab.
  3. Tap Autosave.
  4. Tap Collection Frequency, located in the Collection details section.

UK Bank Holidays will delay this timeframe

Can I change my Autosave account?

To change your funding account, contact our support team. The new account must already be connected in the app and be a valid UK current account in your name. Once we've verified it, we'll link it as your funding account for Save and Invest, and you'll just need to set up a new Direct Debit mandate in the app yourself.

See How do I change my withdrawal bank account? for full details.

We can't process Autosave or Autoinvest collections until the new Direct Debit mandate is set up, which can take up to 10 days from when you complete it in the app.

Can I change the bank balance protection?

Yes, you can change whether we collect Autosave payments when you're in your overdraft. If you're not in your overdraft, we won't take a payment that would put you in it. But if you're finding it hard to break the reliance on your overdraft, you can continue saving while in your overdraft.

  1. Open the app.
  2. Go to the Save tab.
  3. Tap Autosave.
  4. Tap Overdraft deposits next to your account details.
  5. Select Yes or No.

Minimum threshold per autosave: £2
