Why was my bank transfer or standing order to Emma rejected?

Emma Save and Invest are only available to UK-based customers.

Your bank transfer or standing order was rejected because we can only accept deposits made in the app using Open Banking Transfer or Direct Debit.

Bank transfers and standing orders sent to Emma are rejected, for both Save and Invest.

What should I do if my bank transfer or standing order is still pending?

If you've sent a bank transfer or standing order to Emma and it's still pending, contact our support team via in-app chat as soon as possible. We'll check whether the payment can be allocated to your account, but in most cases we can't accept it and it will be rejected. Contacting us early means we can resolve it quickly and show you how to add money in the app.

How do I add money now?

To add money to a Pot, tap the Save tab, tap + Add money, and choose Open Banking Transfer or Direct Debit. See Add money to a Pot for the full steps.

To add money to Emma Invest, tap the Invest tab, tap the account you'd like to deposit into, tap Deposit, and choose Open Banking transfer. See How to deposit money into Emma Invest for the full steps.

What should I do if I have a standing order set up to Emma?

Cancel the standing order with your bank. To save regularly, you can set up Autosave. To invest regularly, you can set up Autoinvest.
