Need to make edits to your budget? Committed spending is used to calculate how much you have left to spend for the month, and it is the payments Emma predicts will happen in your period for your budget. Committed Spending can be found in the Budgeting section of the Emma Feed tab. Your upcoming payments are sourced from the Recurring payments section in your Feed tab. Your 'left of' from your total budget is always different from your available balance from your primary bank account. These two numbers, despite sounding similar, indicate two completely different concepts. Your 'left of' is what's remaining from the total budget you have set in Emma; this is computed by taking your total budget and subtracting both committed and past spending. If you have a joint bank account linked to Emma, you'll see all the transactions from both yourself and the joint holder imported into the app. This means you can budget for both of you! If you want to only budget for your transactions, you might want to look at using Emma Spaces. Spaces allow you to create different budgets for different purposes. If you work for a large company that provides goods or services, Emma may automatically categorise your income based on the company’s industry. Rolling budgets carry forward your underspend or overspend from the previous period, and that carry-forward amount is calculated as a snapshot at the start of each new period based on how your transactions were categorised at that moment.
